The Spiritual Fasting retreat leaders are:
Gabriel Cousens, M.D., MD.(h), D.D., psychiatrist, family therapist, holistic physician, author of 13 books on spirituality, kundalini, and spiritual nutrition;   and acknowledged spiritual master and Shanti Golds Cousens, M.A. and Kali Ray TriYoga® teacher for 37 years. They have been leading spiritual fasts together since 1988.

In my experience in leading spiritual fasts since 1982, as the "fasting guru" which is what the New York Times calls me, fasting is a powerful way to feed the spirit. Spiritual fasting enhances our physical body's ability to become a superconductor of the Divine. It empowers our ability to assimilate not only biochemical energy from which we normally live, but enhances the activation of all levels of energy in the body, including the spiritualizing force of the Kundalini, which is essential for spiritual development and part of a lifestyle that ultimately can lead to liberation. I was empowered by my spiritual master with the spiritual power to awaken and guide the kundalini. Shanti and I will be co-leading the spiritual fast and daily discussions.

The spiritual fast retreat begins on Sunday, June 1 with the "entering the fast" gathering and introduction. The actual spiritual fasting starts on Monday, June 2, and will continue for seven days. The retreat will end with a "break-fast" day on June 9.

The all-inclusive price is $3,800 per person in a single room. Couples in a double room receive a $400 discount per room. There will be an extra charge for supervision for participants with medical conditions, depending on the time needed. (Such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, psychotropic medication). Swimming with dolphins is available as an optional extra. We are limiting this first round of our new spiritual fast to 30 people.
